The Alphabet Series - Things I'm Grateful For

Lately I've been trying to think of some sort of series I could do here on the blog to keep me focused. You see, I suffer from internet ADD and spend way too much time jumping from site to site without accomplishing anything. As much as I love discovering new sources, I thought if I found a way to be more focused it would increase my online productivity and I could regain a few more hours of sleep each night.

I came up with the idea of an alphabet series because it's simple and should be easy enough to maintain my focus. By no means am I claiming that I invented this idea. I'm sure plenty of alphabet series exist out there in the blogosphere. However, I haven't come across any and I've resisted the urge to Google such projects for fear of reusing someone's idea or format.  I want this to be 100% me, good or bad, and I'll explain why...
The idea for creating a 'Grateful' series came easy as soon as the foundation was set. As much as I love fashion, shoes or beauty products, those subjects seemed silly for this. (Although if I like this series idea they may pop up someday!) Recently, I found out I'll likely be loosing my job soon along with lots of other hard working folks. Without going into too many details I'm sure you can imagine the range of emotions we go through at the office on a daily basis.  We've been in limbo for a month now but answers should begin to reveal themselves shortly. In the midst of it all I'm sure we'll be facing some tearful goodbyes and let's be honest - some drama and negativity.  Since the news broke I've been blessed enough to have a feeling a calm, appreciative perspective to what's going on around me.  This comes as a surprise to me because as much as I don't like to admit, I'm kind of a negative person. Sometimes I unnecessary think the worst, react too quickly or let my temper get the best of me. But, I'm trying. I really am. I have faith that things will work out for all of us. But in the meantime, the unknown can be overwhelming. Through this process, I thought it would be a good idea to celebrate all the wonderful things in my life rather than focusing on the negative.

I'll admit, this is a bit of a selfish project. Some posts will be more personal than others but hopefully this will give us a chance to get to know each other better. I really hope you enjoy reading them and can relate in some way. I'd love to learn more about you too so feel free to jump in and share what you're grateful for as well.  I'm not really sure how this is going to work...I plan to post in alphabetic order, daily if possible probably skipping Saturday's and Sunday's. The rest will fall into place!

(I'll be using daily drop cap letters from  Jessica Hische because they're just fabulous!)

First up, the letter A...
