The photography of Jonas Peterson never ceases to amaze me and the pictures from this Sydney wedding are so casual and lovely. Between her fabulous bow and black booties with his fitted suit and skinny tie, this couple is just oozing cool, don't ya think??

Christian Dior in Russia: Past & Present
Friday, June 25, 2010
I found these pictures of a vintage Christian Dior photo shoot in Russia and sent them to hubby since he's my expert Russian. Although they were taken in the 1950's he recognized the building immediately and sent me back a collection of current photos. The location is the Moscow GUM (pronounced goom) - it's short for Glavnyi Universalnyi Magazin - an iconic shopping mall at the Red Square.
The contrast between the models and the onlookers is almost painful in some photos. How very interesting to see the changes many years later!

Monaco Marriage
Thursday, June 24, 2010
Royal families intrigue me! The Royal Palace of Monaco announced the engagement of Prince Albert of Monaco, the son of Princess Grace and Prince Ranier, to South African Charlene Wittstock.
Isn't that ring a stunner??
Grace Kelly and Prince Ranier on their wedding day is 1956.
Aren't they fabulous? *sigh*

Beauty Treatment Must Have
Wednesday, June 23, 2010
Image via Benefit Cosmetics
Alright readers, I have a confession.
I'm addicted to Benefit's Eye Trio service. There, I said it.
I've been a long time eyebrow wax-er but when the ladies at Benefit suggested a trio treatment a few months ago I went for it. The service includes an eyebrow wax plus a brow and last tint. As much as it hurts, I love the feeling of just waxed brows. My face feels so clean! And the tint (painless!) is just enough to make my brows look defined and my lashes looking luscious. I don't know if I could function without it. I'm on the 5 week schedule and by the end of week 3 I'm getting a little antsy with anticipation! The funny thing is, this time last year I was addicted to the No-Chip manicure. (I still love it, just taking a little budget break ;)
So let's hear it, what beauty treatments could you not live without??

Happy Weekend!
Friday, June 18, 2010
Friday is here!
I can't get enough of this jam. Miss Katy looks hot, Snoop rocks and I wanna be a California girl! I heard 2 interviews on the radio with Katy yesterday. She said this song was her playful response to Jay-Z's 'Empire State of Mind', a little west coast respresntation! And how cute is it that her cat is named Kitty Purry, I mean really :)
Have a fabulous weekend!

Bow Front Dress
Friday, June 18, 2010
Breathable cotton makes it comfy. An unstructured bow makes it cute. Bikini cover up to street fests. This is the kind of dress to be lived in all summer. The only issue is...which color??

Stereomood Radio
Thursday, June 17, 2010
I love me some Pandora, but I like new things too.
Stereomood is that new thing.
Pick a playlist based on your mood. Called 'emotional internet radio', stations like Dressing up, Spring Cleaning, and Sunday Morning will be the perfect soundtrack for whatever your activity.
I've been listening to the 'Work' station. It's the perfect mix of peppy and mellow. Do you listen to music while you work? I can't listen to songs I know because I get distracted by singing along!

Wedding Wednesday

Heather and James had an adorable vintage wedding in Santa Monica. Aren't the colors fabulous?
Some of the prettiest dresses these days have sleeves...so classic and beautiful. And how pretty are the flowers on her sash? (Emerson, is that you?)

Happy Weekend
Friday, June 11, 2010
What's up for the weekend sweet peeps? Chicago is abuzz with activities - Blackhawks victory parade, Cubs/Sox Crosstown Classic, Bluesfest.... I love how the city comes alive in Summer. (It's also amazing how much better I feel when the sun is out!) I'm happy to be home for the 1st weekend in a few weeks. Traveling is fun but I'm looking forward to hanging here for this one - rooftop dining, karaoke and housework are on the agenda!
I'll leave you with this jam for the weekend. Love this line:
"Just a picture perfect day that last's a whole lifetime and it never ends 'cause all we have to do is hit rewind"
Make a memory this weekend!

What Home Means to Me
Thursday, June 10, 2010
Today I'm taking part in Pin It Forward - a blogger mashup organized by the awesome Victoria at SFGirlbyBay. The theme is 'What Home Means to Me' and I could go on about this for days. The truth is, for me, it's not about a physical location filled with stuff, but where my heart is.
I grew up in the country. When I'm there, I want a farmhouse with goats and a garden.
I live in the city. When I'm here, I want a high rise condo with a door man and a lake view.
I complied my favorite images using Pinterest - its the easiest way to keep track of inspiration, build wish lists, and gather ideas for future reference. See my original board here.
Thanks to Bobbi's Art for passing the torch and now I'm sending you on to Apple Blue for tomorrow's post!
I grew up in the country. When I'm there, I want a farmhouse with goats and a garden.
But I feel most at home surrounded by laughter and love. When I'm with darling family and friends it doesn't matter what location I reside. My heart is already home.
That being said, I have to lay my head somewhere so here's what makes a house a home for me:
A front porch with rocking chairs
A zebra rug because it makes life feel fabulous
A calming bedroom where I can read and relax
Books - for browsing, for storing memories, for scraps of life
Fresh flowers, yellow is good :)
2 sweet black kitties
