The Valentino Garavani Archives
Tuesday, December 6, 2011
Did you hear about the virtual Valentino museum? It just "opened" and is quite spectacular. One, because from Jackie O to Julia - Valentino has dressed the best. And two, because it's a museum that you download to your computer and explore at your own leisure. Whaat? Yes.
"Animated galleries show a life's work, and hundreds of key dresses have been photographed revolving 360 degrees to show every line and stitch."
You're welcome.
Do you get the Goop newsletters? (I love them.) Gwyneth (seriously, when can we be BFF's?) interviewed Valentino's business partner Giancarlo Giammetti, to get the scoop.
P.S. I'm guest posting over at Lili & Mae today with another 'Spot the Steal' Challenge. Come give it a whirl!

If A Picture Paints a Thousand Words...
Thursday, February 24, 2011
Sorry for the lack of posts & commenting this week, currently my free time is being spent preparing for the Chicago Fashion Foundation event. (Hope to see you!) In the meantime, enjoy these fabulous Fashion Week pictures from Jamie Beck. They might be the coolest ever. Who am I kidding, they're most definitely the coolest ever - capturing exactly what fascinates me with the fashion industry - the glitz, the glam and the energy!

P.S. We're getting more snow tonight and I hear San Fran & LA may see flurries too... lucky you ;)

Winter Wishes (Ok, I give in)
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
I jinxed myself with the talk of warmth yesterday...we have snow today! This sleek little catsuit from adidas by Stella McCartney is quickly reigniting my winter mood though. Ski trip anyone?
Black Swan

How amazing is this film going to be?? Anyone else chomping at the bit to see it?? We rarely go to theater but once in a while a movie comes along that begs to be viewed on the big screen. The previews look intense!!

Christian Louboutin Releases 'Peace of Shoe'
Monday, November 15, 2010
Christian Louboutin has released a limited collection of shoes named "Peace of Shoe." The silk peep-toe platform trimmed beauties feature hand-stitched embroidered Indian ribbon and are available in 3 colors in 3 cities: champagne in New York, lavender in Miami and pink in Los Angeles. The best part...all proceeds from each $1495 sale are going to the Grameen Foundation, which provides the world's poorest citizens, especially women, small loans to start or expand small businesses and eventually support themselves.
That's what I call design with sole. :)

Do you Rue?
Friday, September 24, 2010
I know I'm not the first person to write about Rue and with images as gorgeous as these I certainly won't be the last. The adorable virtual baby of Crystal Gentilello and Anne Sage is my new favorite. I'm in love with the friendly tone, beautiful photos and free (!) downloads. See for yourself...
I suggest a little quiet time with an oversize monitor for your veiwing pleasure. Congrats Rue on your premier issue!

I certainly do Rue, do you??
Big Bang Theory
Thursday, September 23, 2010
On Tuesday night I was thumbing through a magazine at the doctor's office when I caught whiff of the most amazing stop-me-in-my-tracks scent. It smelled like hot boys and pepper and was so delicious that I had to share it with the office assistant out of pure "I can't keep this to myself" guilt. Turns out the fragrance was Bang by Marc Jacobs and there couldn't be a more perfect name. My oh my, Hubby must have!
Lucky for me the magazine also featured an interesting article about Bang's co-creator Yann Vasnier. Unlucky for us, the article isn't available online (what's up with that?)
Have you smelled it? What's your opinion??
