Neon Queen
Tuesday, April 5, 2011
Ever since we hosted an 80's party last summer, I find myself inspired by the colors and trends of that time (neon and acid wash anyone?) So when I spotted these tie dye wash jean leggings on sale at Express... come to Mama. (Though they may be a little more '90's than '80's and just so happen to be called Zelda. -- Please tell me you remember that video game. No? Go ask your little brother.) The pink top has a deep V and loose shoulders that give it a little Flashdance feel. And blue leopard print? Hellooo 'borderline-so-tacky-it's-almost-cool!' If you squint, you can see the multi gemstone peacock earrings that I actually wore to '80's party - well, one of them... these babies go with tons of stuff! And a neon queen isn't complete without splash paint nails. (We'll discuss later this week.)

I love this! It's like a modern, sophisticated take on the 80s but still tons of fun and very playful. And the sleeves on your top are perfect.

LOVE the top! :) The whole outfit works, even if I don't think I could pull it off. For one, those shoes probably don't come in my size. :P
ReplyDeleteThe tie dye wash is perfect in the lighter shade - it's not so loud. And of course, I love your manicure!

This outfit is the cutest! You pull it off amazingly well! I have been on the hunt for a good pair of white skinny pants, preferably capri to endure the upcoming summer heat :)
ReplyDeletePS Zelda is the BEST! and waaaaaaaaaay better than final fantasy! Also do you remember Chrono Trigger?
Oh yeah, and what I MEANT to say, before I got distracted by your cute post, is I TOTALLY agree. It helps to find things to take your mind of the situation. As much as we try to resist-- a change will do ya good!
ReplyDeletelooks great on you!! your hair looks really pretty too.
ReplyDeleteoh super cute, i love, love, love it. I don't wear too much pink on top because it doesn't go well with my skin tone! However, I definitely enjoy it. The color of the jeans is really nice and perfect as head into summer. I love your hair in the breeze the most! I wish Chicago air was encircling me :) and that train in the background, I just plain love.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the look. It's really 80s inspired, but in all the good ways! Those jeans totally bring me back.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great outfit and I totally love the nails. You are such a cutie! Have a great day, darling
