I am twenty-two today.

And I am three days away from becoming a Mrs. It's Thursday night and almost everyone I love and cherish is in town for our Saturday wedding. I spent the day visiting with family and friends and thinking how wonderful it was to have everyone together at the same time. I am happy. Elated. After so much excitement and final wedding preparation we return to my Mom's house where I suffer my first and only anxiety attack. A few of us were sitting around talking when I lost my breath. The world was closing in. I felt like my sundress was smothering me. Complete and total panic, arms flailing, pulling at my chest. Luckily I've never experienced that again. Pre-wedding jitters??

At almost 29, it's hard to believe I was a bride at twenty-two. At the time I felt old enough, grown. When I say it now, I realize how young twenty-two really is. But when you know....you know. Seven years later, still mad for him :)

  1. Yeah, 22 is pretty young! But you're lucky that you found the right guy so early. Were you together for long before that? We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary this year, we've been together for 7.

  2. How sweet! Happy Anniversay, darling!

22 is young these days... but my parents were married at 18 and are still crazy in love!
I was 27 when I got married and that still felt young for me!

  4. Great post! I just have the biggest smile on my face now. You are quite lucky to have found someone at my age (I just turned 22 in April.) Happy anniversary! It's great to hear that age doesn't matter when it comes to true love!

  7. Cute. :) I got married a month before I turned 21 and, likewise, felt so old and mature. It's quite fun to tell people how long we've been married...like when we're on vacation, people always ask if we're on our honeymoon. Hahaha. All the more time for adventures. Another plus is that we got married on a college student's budget rather than a young professional's budget!

  8. awww, it's so inspiring to know that you're still so in love with your husband after 7 years! :)

i'm only 20, and i can't imagine myself getting married in two years, but if it's gonna be like that, then it's definitely not a bad thing. :)

  11. Thanks for the anniversary wishes everyone!
I must say that although being young worked for me, it's not right for everyone. Being mentally prepared for commitment is a must! Marriage is a verb - it requires action and maintenance :)
