Sweet Spring
Wednesday, March 16, 2011
This morning I heard birds for the first time in what feels like forever. I know we have a little ways to go before Spring officially arrives but it is slowly making its way here. (The high is 62 on Thursday!) It has become somewhat of a tradition for us to walk to the beach at the end of our street at the first weather break. (Ok, so the 'beach' is actually Lake Michigan but it has sand and small waves so it's a beach to me.) On the way, we stop at Starbucks for a green tea frappuccino and meander along the sidewalks and the sand, dreaming of the wonderful Chicago summer to come. I can't wait for that moment and hope it comes sooner than later this year. I. am. ready!
Do you have any 'welcome spring' traditions?
P.S. I love that all my magazines this month have a Spring feel on the cover, so sweet and colorful!

ReplyDeleteohhh your Spring beginning makes me jealous, I love the Lake Michigan shot! Honestly, Lake Michigan seems every bit an ocean, it totally crashes like one and sounds like one.
