I'm leeeeaving, on a jetplane (for a long a$$ time!)
I'm excited (and overwhelmed) to report that next week I'm saying sayonara to Chicago for one month. You read that right, an entire.month.
I'll be traveling to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego and New York and hopefully sharing my adventures along the way. This weekend will most likely be dedicated to trying to figure out how to pack five weeks of clothing into 2 suitcases all while selecting the appropriate work/vacation/birthday/work apparel. My excel based packing list resembles more of a physics formula than a recipe for a well organized suitcase. Any packing/planning tips you could offer a girl? Mucho appreciated!
P.S. I'm still reading your blogs, have just been unable to comment lately - thanks a lot Blogger... In the meantime I've been trying Tweeting, Facebook-ing and emailing you. Hope things return to normal soon, miss you guys!
P.P.S.S. Confession: I'm really unprepared for leaving this blog for a month (i.e. I have no scheduled posts in the cue...) Here's hoping to checking in along the way with updates, photo's and more!
Wow, an entire month of travel? And to some really fabulous cities. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou will be missed. I can't wait to see the future blogposts that you have in store for us!

There is no Google in Shanghai, you will only be able to check your blog in Hong Kong ;-(

sounds great!
ReplyDeleteas a veteran packer of multi-city multi-continent trips, i highly recommend the following- pick ONE color story and stick with it. bring a tightly edited selection of mostly basic clothing pieces (one or two statement pieces only), and a LOT of accessories- scarves in particular! accessories are much smaller and easier to pack, and people will never notice that you've been wearing the same jeans and blouse every 3 days ;)
how great lovely, looks like you are going to have a fabulous travel adventure ahead! have a lotta of fun, take a lotta picks and see you soon! xoxo

Oh, how exciting! And I love that you don't have anything planned-it'll be spontaneous! I can't wait to follow your wild adventure!

Wow! You're going EVERYWHERE! Have an amazing trip! Unfortunately I have no tips on packing. I'm the one that has to buy a bigger suitcase on holidays because I can't fit everything into the one I left home with : (
ReplyDeleteHave an AMAZING month!
ReplyDeleteHave fun!! It sounds like such an adventure, I hope you have a great time!x
ReplyDeleteAshleigh that sounds like one incredible month! When you're here in SoCal please let me know (if you have the chance)--maybe you can spin by Huntington Beach for dinner at the Chef's place. Would love to see you :)

Oh Ashleigh, how exciting! I would love to visit Hong Kong. Take lots, and lots of pics.
ReplyDeleteOh, and regarding packing-roll your stuff up. It wrinkles less, and provides more room. I always go overboard with packing. I was the girl who would go on summer trips or summer camps looking like I was permanently moving even if it was a 3 or 4 day trip. Hubby has reformed me a bit. I've gotten better over the years.
Anyhow, have fun. Big hug to you, and safe travels!
Sounds like an amazing time is coming up for you! A month of traveling! I'm so glad I'm not the only person who makes excel lists when it comes to packing for trips!!
