French Fête for the Females - #TargetWedding

Wednesday, November 6, 2013

Like many of you, my obsession with all things French dates back to my early teens. From my Paris themed bedroom in high school, to language classes in college, and now, Pinterest boards full of books, style and food, my devotion hasn't waned. Wedding trends have changed a lot since I tied the knot (10 years ago!) but if we had it to do over today, I like to think I'd host my own ladies lunch for maybe my maids or closets female friends. French style, of course, because we know I love a good theme party. Using the picture above as inspiration here's how I would cultivate elegant simplicity with a few items from Target.

A silver tray for the champagne, served in Reidel flutes to "guide bubbly to the part of the palate that appreciates the creamy texture" yum!  A beaded tray for stacking macarons, and pretty plates for tiny bites. Plus, sweet stationery for handwritten personal  "merci's" to each guest. Throw in a beautiful pastel hued bouquet et voila! a lovely fête for the ladies.

Here's something else lovely...Target was kind enough to offer a $25 gift card to one lucky Little Girl, Big World reader! In order to enter, simply visit the Target Wedding Catalog, then come back and leave a comment below with the item you would use or gift at a similar wedding festivity. Include a valid email so I can contact the winner! (And obviously, if you're planning a wedding in the near future, be sure to sign up for the Target Wedding Registry!) Entry ends Monday, November 11th at 12:00pm. Winner will be selected at random and announced on Tuesday, November 12th.

Follow all the fun from fellow bloggers at #TargetWedding on Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest!

Disclosure: I received product or compensation in return for this post, however, my opinions are my own, based on my experience and interaction with the brand or products. As always, if I don’t love it, I don’t tell you about it. Read my official (i.e. “wordy”) disclosure here.

11/12/13 - Update!

The winner of the $25 Target gift card is Lesa! Thanks to everyone who entered!

Southern Wedding Inspiration

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Y'all know I'm a Southern girl at heart so naturally I'm swooning over these pictures from a 'Southern sweet meets California cool' wedding inspired photoshoot. Drawing inspiration from traditional southern elements (lace, bourbon, sweet tea) with a California twist (succulents, poppies, peach nectar) this fete is blowing my mind...the centerpieces are like texture heaven! Green tomatoes, cotton and a mint mixing station, what else do you need in life??

See the full lot here. Really, you must.

This picture is just the sweetest. The boots are perfect for a Nashville wedding! (The flood ruined the original location in the backyard so it moved to the front. Based on the beautiful photo's I'd say it was meant to be!)

Aren't the Southern Gentlemen looking dapper in suits and purple socks?

The photography of Jonas Peterson never ceases to amaze me and the pictures from this Sydney wedding are so casual and lovely. Between her fabulous bow and black booties with his fitted suit and skinny tie, this couple is just oozing cool, don't ya think??

Heather and James had an adorable vintage wedding in Santa Monica. Aren't the colors fabulous?

Some of the prettiest dresses these days have sleeves...so classic and beautiful. And how pretty are the flowers on her sash? (Emerson, is that you?)

I have to give credit to the hubby on this one. He introduced me to this photographer's site and I fell in love with the photos of Heather & Tyler's Parisian wedding. Any celebration with an Eiffel Tower involved is a favorite of mine :)

Nashville continues to be on my mind lately so I guess it was meant to be that I stumbled on this Nashville wedding yesterday on Ruffled.  The beautifully unique details have me swooning.  If we still lived there I'd be requesting a double date with this super cool couple! Handmade loveliness, meaningful memento's and some serious creative ability, I hope you're ready for this treat...  the wedding of Golriz + Devon - even their names are cool!

A TV art installation, how cool is that?

P.S. As a special treat check out their wedding trailer here. You'll find a groom grinning ear to ear, delightful hanging umbrellas and an adorable singing clip!

P.P.S. Have you helped Nashville yet?
